The Challenge

Public Education Partners is a community-based nonprofit organization founded in 1995 to support the improvement of public education throughout Aiken County, South Carolina. PEP's initial fundraising efforts were very successful, but to achieve their long-term goals they would need to influence a broader base of partners, stakeholders and community members. Edge Media volunteered its creative and video services to help them attain this.

The Solution

We decided that the best way to encourage new donors and demonstrate the impact of PEP was to see one of their programs in action and listen to the students, teachers, administrators and community sponsors who are affected by it. We spent just a few hours at LBC middle school and captured students working one of their inquiry-based, synergistic lab modules. Students' reactions to the program are, “Life changing…fantastic…like, wow!”, while teachers, principals and sponsors highlighted the relevancy of up-to-date information of the content and the inspiration it brings to children who don't find success in a traditional classroom setting.

PEP showcased the final five minute video at their annual meeting and continues to play the video on their website, in one-on-one presentations to potential sponsors and even sends DVD copies of the video to prospective stakeholders.
